Isostatic Laminators

Quintus Technologies’ isostatic laminators deliver high productivity, uniform quality, and reliable performance for multi-layer ceramic capacitors (MLCCs) and other advanced electronic components.

High-efficiency lamination for precision electronic components

Isostatic lamination is a proven solution for manufacturing multi-layer ceramic capacitors (MLCCs) with high consistency and minimal defects.

By applying uniform pressure from all directions, Quintus laminators eliminate common issues in traditional lamination, enabling faster production and improved product quality across a range of electronic applications.

Isostatic Laminator presses

Optimized for advanced electronic materials

Quintus laminators are widely used in the production of ceramic-based electronic components, including MLCCs. With operating pressures up to 30,000 psi, they support modern materials and evolving design requirements such as base metal electrode technologies.

High productivity and efficient processing

Quintus laminators feature a large, accessible work zone that supports flexible loading of multiple parts. Compared to traditional platen presses, they can achieve up to 20 times higher throughput while maintaining consistent quality.

Consistent quality and low scrap rates

Uniform isostatic pressure prevents distortion, eliminates edge defects, and ensures controlled shrinkage. This results in consistent lamination quality, reduced scrap, and minimal variation between components.

Reliable and cost-effective operation

With a compact footprint, water-based system, and robust design, Quintus laminators offer reliable performance and easy integration into production lines. The combination of high productivity and reduced waste enables fast return on investment.

Warm Isostatic Pressing, WIP, is a technology that is used for achieving maximum uniform powder compact density, using a heated, pressurized liquid media. Common pressure media include water, emulsion or oil, pressurized to 600 MPa at temperatures up to 145°C.

The Quintus warm isostatic battery presses are able to deliver pressures up to 600 MPa and temperatures of up to 145 °C.
