Västerås, Sweden, April 24, 2025 — A Quintus Technologies Hot Isostatic Press (HIP) will be a critical piece of equipment on the manufacturing line at Yukun Biomaterials Technology Co., Ltd., for the production of medical joint implants in China.
Founded in 2019, Yukun Bio has refined its core technology to produce Grade X (highest reliability class) Zirconia Toughened Alumina (ZTA) ceramic material to achieve the necessary properties for ZTA ceramic ball heads and liners as needed for use as hip joint implants. From self-made powder to molding, sintering, Hot Isostatic Pressing, and inspection, Yukun is now completing its ZTA production line for Alpha ceramic heads, meeting all global standards and requirements.
The Quintus press, model QIH 48 G URC® , supplies a vital function in the manufacturing process for these high-performance advanced ceramics, densifying the components using extreme pressures and adapted temperatures as necessary to achieve the strength, durability, and reliability as required for a state-of-the-art hip replacement device.
