In this paper, we explore the possibilities for increase in productivity that come from using Hot Isostatic Pressing (HIP) combined with Quintus Uniform Rapid Cooling, URC®, in the manufacturing of Zirconia Toughened Alumina, ZTA, for high performance, high reliability applications such as medical implants.
