Hot Isostatic Pressing for the Casting Industry

Hot Isostatic Pressing (HIP) is the application of an extremely high isostatic pressure at approximately 85% of the melting point on a solid object.
Hot Isostatic Pressing for the Casting Industry

The pressure and temperature are sustained for a predefined time with the purpose to eliminate internal voids and defects in components to achieve 100% theoretical density. The pressure and heat are applied to the components via an inert gas, normally argon.
