HIP for the casting industry Today, Hot Isostatic Pressing (HIP) is standard practice for eliminating pores to improve the material properties of high-end castings. Thanks to recent advances, Quintus Technologies has succeeded in increasing HIP productivity by up to 100%. These improvements result in a running cost of 0.10 USD/lb, a value proposition that makes HIP of even greater interest to the casting industry. And now, heat treatment of castings can be applied directly in the HIP system, with no added cost or process time.
