Whitcraft Group Gears Up for Aerospace Growth with Quintus Hydroform Press.

Thirteen months after being tapped to supply $234 million in parts and assemblies for Pratt & Whitney’s next-gen geared turbofan engines, Connecticut’s Whitcraft Group inaugurated a brand-new Quintus hydroform deep-draw press at its Eastford sheet metal facility. Operating at 11,600-psi, the press was selected for its ability to handle the formability requirements of low-weight and very tough metal alloys, in an efficient process that meets demanding cost and quality criteria and stringent delivery schedules. Whitcraft and Quintus have also entered into a cooperation agreement to promote market awareness of hydroform/Flexform technology and the fabricator’s new production capabilities.
