Whitepaper - Quintus Purus® Enabling clean processing in Hot Isostatic Pressing
When setting up all the correct conditions for the heat treatment process, clean and unoxidized surfaces could be expected, and often regarded as necessary. This is especially true if the part performance is critically affected by the surface state, or if thermal processing is, or has the potential to become, the final processing step for the part.

White Paper - Hot Isostatic Pressing for the Casting Industry
Hot Isostatic Pressing (HIP) is the application of an extremely high isostatic pressure at approximately 85% of the melting point on a solid object. The pressure and temperature are sustained for a predefined time with the purpose to eliminate internal voids and defects in components to achieve 100% theoretical density. The pressure and heat are applied to the components via an inert gas, normally argon.

White Paper - HIP eliminates casting defects and scrap loss
HIP for the casting industry Today, Hot Isostatic Pressing (HIP) is standard practice for eliminating pores to improve the material properties of high-end castings. Thanks to recent advances, Quintus Technologies has succeeded in increasing HIP productivity by up to 100%. These improvements result in a running cost of 0.10 USD/lb, a value proposition that makes HIP of even greater interest to the casting industry. And now, heat treatment of castings can be applied directly in the HIP system, with no added cost or process time.
