Monoblock vessels have been in existence since the late 1940’s and proven to be a reliable tool for the powder metals and ceramics industries. Quintus Technologies (formerly ABB) formed a joint venture with Autoclave Engineers in 1986 and subsequently purchased the isostatic pressing components from them in 2006. All of the current vessel designs incorporate the latest edition of the ASME Section VIII Div. 2 or 3 Pressure Vessel Code, and also comply with PED and CE requirements. These monoblock vessels can be operated safely and have a long life as long as the user maintains the press, has the vessel inspected on a defined periodic schedule, and performs routine maintenance as per the recommendations of Quintus Technologies as outlined in the supplied Operation/Maintenance manual supplied with the press.

Research Scale CIP's
These compact, self-contained units are fast, convenient, and inexpensive systems for basic research, feasibility, and prototyping studies of cold isostatic pressing. More Quintus Monoblock CIP’s are used in industrial, government, and university laboratories than any other isostatic press. Many are also used in small-batch production operations. These presses range in size from 2” (50.8mm) ID to 6” (152.4mm) ID with typical pressures of 30,000 to 60,000 PSI (2068 Bar to 4136 Bar).
Pilot Plant and Mid-Range Production CIP's
For higher volume production applications, we offer a full line of monoblock CIPs with totally automated vessel operation. A touch of a button activates the entry and removal of the cover and basket, thread-less pin closure, water filling and draining, and controlled pressurization and depressurization. This design provides the fastest available means for isostatic processing of production components. Options are available for faster pump up times; rotation of closure and lowering closure and workbasket to floor level for a more ergonomic workplace. Where required the system can also be fit with a computer control system to track pressure and hold times and can be modified to fit your needs for material tracking. These presses range in size from 8” ID (203.2mm) to 24” ID (609.6mm) depending on pressure (pressure can range from 5,000 PSI to 60,000 PSI (345 Bar to 4136 Bar).
The decompression system decompresses the pressure inside the CIP at the end of the hold time. The decompression system can be designed to fit your process needs whether your needs are to get maximum productivity or maximum accuracy and fine decompression.
